Short & sweet
Growing up, since I was older, Daniel was commonly referred to as “Laura’s brother” or “Little Ord”. If you don’t know me I could probably hold a conversation with a tree as long as it would listen. Because of that I had a lot of acquaintances. He would come home from school and complain about how much he hated when people he had just met for the first time would call him “Laura’s brother”. He wanted to be his own person, I understood that. When Brobro graduated and went to Troy he thought he had escaped that title, he was wrong. Within his first week at Troy he had already called me a handful of times to tell me he had met someone who called him “Laura’s brother”. I had never had a stranger connect me with my brother. Most people he knew I knew as well. Lately I’ve been referred to as “Daniel’s sister” more times than I could possibly count. When someone asks me if I’m Dan’s sister I beam and say “Yes, yes I am.” I have never been more proud to “belong” to someone. I like to think that now he would answer the same way.
Dan, I love you more than I ever thought possible. You are an amazing man. I am beyond proud to be your sister. I am also very lucky. I cannot wait to see you in three days! I’m ready to see firsthand all the amazing things you’re doing. :) I love you Brobro.
